James J. “Jimbo” Petitjean was sworn in for his third term in office as the Assessor of Acadia Parish on Tuesday, January 6, 2021. Petitjean was honored to be sworn in by Third Circuit Appellate Court Judge Jonathan Perry. The ceremony was conducted outdoors on the 2nd floor terrace of the Acadia Parish Courthouse. Valued staff members were also sworn in as Deputy Assessors.

Petitjean stated, ”I am thankful to parish residents for affording me the opportunity to continue to serve them as their Assessor. We have a team of staff members who are extremely knowledgeable and eager to assist citizens and businesses on a daily basis. Working in conjunction with other parish elected officials and governmental bodies, we promise always to honor our mission statement: To increase awareness and understanding throughout Acadia Parish regarding the assessment process, so that residents recognize what it entails and how it ultimately affects and benefits them daily.”
